Meghan Markle is getting ready to star on the big screen. According to various publications, the Duchess of Sussex will return to acting for the first time in seven years in a new film called Close Personal Friends, which stars Lily Collins and Brie Larson.
Meghan was reportedly seen on set for a small role in the Amazon MGM Studios-produced comedy, which follows partners who meet a celebrity couple on a trip to Santa Barbara, Calif., according to People.
Close Personal Friends, which also stars Henry Golding and Jack Quaid, was announced in August and began production one month later in London.
While most information regarding the film remains unknown, Lily has recently given a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the Jason Orley-directed effort.
In an Instagram snapshot taken on September 22, the Emily in Paris star posed for a selfie with Henry, Brie, and Jack in an all-white room. She captioned the picture, "Close (personal) friends only..."
Meghan will appear in her first film since leaving the long-running legal drama Suits in 2018 after seven seasons as series regular Rachel Zane.
The 44-year-old decided to leave the show to focus on her responsibilities within the royal family ahead of her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
"I don't see it as giving anything up," Meghan explained in an interview with the BBC at the time. "I just see it as a change."
She went on to say, "When we reached 100 episodes, I thought, you know what? I checked this box, and I'm quite proud of the work I've done there; now, as you mentioned, it's time to work as a team with [Harry].
Meghan and Harry, who are parents to 6-year-old Prince Archie and 4-year-old Princess Lilibet, stepped down as senior working royals three years after leaving Hollywood and relocating to the United States.
Meghan, who has since founded the lifestyle company As Ever and released her own Netflix homemaking series, With Love, Meghan, has reiterated that she does not intend to return to acting full-time.
"I'm done," she told Variety in 2022. "I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."
