Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a $50,000 donation to Masaka Kids Africana, the Ugandan children's dance troupe featured in their upcoming Netflix documentary Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within. The contribution, made through their Archewell Foundation via GoFundMe on November 12, highlights the couple's ongoing support for uplifting global communities.

Founded in 2020, the Archewell Foundation reflects the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's mission to "show up, do good." The donation coincides with the release of the trailer for Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within, set to premiere on Netflix on December 9. The film, produced by Archewell Productions, was part of the August announcement confirming Harry and Meghan's multi-year, first-look deal with Netflix, extending their creative partnership for film and television projects.

The documentary follows the story of the Masaka Kids Africana, a troupe of Ugandan children—many of them orphans—who transform hardship into joy through dance. The project aims to reveal the community's resilience and creativity beyond their viral online performances. The couple reportedly discovered the group during the COVID pandemic when they watched their videos with their son, Prince Archie. According to a spokesperson, the Sussexes were already fans of the organization before the film opportunity emerged in 2023.

In addition to Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within, Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan recently returned for a second season on Netflix, with a holiday special slated for release on December 3. Their new Netflix lineup comes after reports that the couple's original $100 million deal would not be renewed upon expiration in September. The decision is said to align with Netflix's shift away from multi-project contracts, similar to its arrangement with Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions.

Commenting on the extended collaboration, Meghan expressed pride in expanding their partnership with Netflix, adding that their Archewell Productions team is committed to creating "thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally." The documentary, directed by David Vieira Lopez and Oscar nominee Moses Bwayo, is a Campfire Studios Production made in association with Wontanara Productions and Archewell Productions. Masaka Kids: A Rhythm Within will premiere globally on Netflix on December 9, celebrating the joy and strength of children dancing toward hope and healing.
