Beyoncé has officially been declared a billionaire by Forbes, becoming the fifth musician to reach the milestone and solidifying her status as one of the most powerful figures in the global entertainment industry.
The American superstar now joins a rare group of artists with 10-figure fortunes, alongside Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen and her husband, Jay-Z. Forbes estimates Jay-Z's net worth at $2.5 billion, while Beyoncé has crossed the billion-dollar threshold following years of touring success, music releases and business ventures.
Earlier this month, Forbes had placed Beyoncé's net worth at approximately $800 million, predicting that she would soon surpass the billion mark. That projection has now been confirmed, driven largely by record-breaking tours, strategic partnerships and tight control over her creative output.
A major contributor to her wealth was the Renaissance World Tour, which grossed nearly $600 million in 2023, ranking among the highest-grossing tours of all time. Beyoncé also released a concert film tied to the tour, distributing it directly through AMC Theatres in a deal that allowed her to retain a significant share of the film's $44 million global box office earnings.
Her 2024 album, Cowboy Carter, further boosted her profile and finances. The genre-blending project received widespread critical acclaim and earned Beyoncé her first Grammy Award for Album of the Year. The accompanying tour generated more than $400 million in ticket sales, with an additional $50 million coming from merchandise.
Despite some reports of slower ticket sales in certain markets, the tour set pricing records in Europe, including at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Paris' Stade de France, where top tickets sold for as much as £950.
Beyond music, Beyoncé expanded her earnings through high-profile appearances and endorsements. Forbes estimates she earned around $50 million for a Christmas Day NFL halftime performance streamed by Netflix, alongside roughly $10 million from a series of Levi's advertising campaigns.
Central to her financial success is Parkwood Entertainment, the company she founded to oversee her music, films, tours and brand partnerships. By financing and managing projects internally, Beyoncé has maximised ownership and long-term profits.
With her billionaire status now confirmed, Beyoncé stands as a defining example of artistic independence translating into extraordinary financial success.
