Cardi B is standing firmly by Stefon Diggs amid serious allegations made by his former personal chef, making it clear she does not believe the claims and says her own interactions with the woman tell a very different story.
The rapper addressed the controversy on social media after users brought up Diggs' legal troubles, which stem from accusations by an ex-employee who alleges the New England Patriots wide receiver choked and slapped her during a dispute over pay in early December. Diggs has denied the allegations.
Cardi responded forcefully, saying she has never been told anything that would suggest Diggs was physically abusive. In a post she later deleted, she wrote, "Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!!"
She went on to stress how close her communication with the chef had been, adding, "Mind you, we was talking every single day until she left that house." Cardi claimed the woman only raised concerns much later, something she says raised red flags for her.
The rapper also shared a screenshot of what she said was a message from the chef, though the rest of the conversation was not visible. Still, Cardi insisted she was confident in her stance, writing, "I'm gonna let the courts handle s*."**
Her post became even more emphatic as she addressed critics directly. "When it gets handled, I want all y'all talkin s* on your f*in knees with apologies just as loud the way y'allbeen harassing over a lie," she wrote. Cardi underscored how strongly she believes Diggs is innocent by adding, "I put that on my two month old son in the name of the lord!! That's how confident I am."
Although Cardi later deleted the post without explanation, her comments closely mirrored statements made by Diggs' attorneys, who have said the allegations are untrue and tied to a financial disagreement rather than violence.
The New England Patriots have also continued to back Diggs, allowing him to remain active as the case proceeds. He played in the team's recent matchup against the Miami Dolphins, finishing with three receptions for 43 yards.
Diggs is expected to be arraigned on Jan. 23, just two days before the AFC Championship Game. Until then, Cardi has made it clear she's not backing down, choosing to trust Diggs and let the legal system determine the outcome.
