Khloé Kardashian, co-founder of Good American and mother of two, has opened up about the possibility of having another child, despite the challenges she faced in her past surrogacy experiences with ex Tristan Thompson. The reality star shares daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3, with Thompson and revealed that her desire for a third child is influenced by her own upbringing.
"I don't think I have the energy for another baby, but I do think girls need sisters," Khloé said on the March 4 episode of her Khloé in Wonderland podcast. "It's how I was raised. Like, Tatum is going to be fine, but a girl needs her sister. Maybe because that was my experience." She grew up with four siblings, Kourtney, Kim, Kendall and Kylie, and said that bond between sisters is something she wants True to have as well.
Khloé also revealed that she still has "a few embryos in the freezer," which could potentially be used for another child. "But I think I have one girl left, and I have been contemplating, like, do I just do this? Do it on my own, do this? But I don't know if emotionally I could handle this," she said. "It's just been a thought. I don't think it's going to happen, because I don't have the energy."
She explained that if she were to try for a third child, it would be different from her previous surrogacy experiences. Tatum's birth came during a paternity scandal when Thompson fathered a son, Theo, with Maralee Nichols. "I would put the baby in a surrogate, and I think I would have a very different experience because I would be along for that surrogate journey, as opposed to all the trauma that surrounded Tatum's surrogate experience," she said. She also acknowledged the uncertainty of pregnancy: "But when you put an embryo in, there's no guarantee that it will take. So I was also thinking I could try that, and if it doesn't work, then it means that God didn't want me to have another baby, and that's fine. But I don't even think I have the emotional capacity."
Khloé explained that her primary motivation for considering another child would be to give True a sister. She also mentioned, jokingly, that True tells people she has a sister "in the freezer," and she often has to clarify the situation so it isn't misunderstood.
Earlier, Khloé shared with PEOPLE that she feels content and complete with her two children and would only think about having more if she were married. She emphasized that she wants a partner in the process, not just to have more kids, and feels satisfied with where her life currently is. She also joked about her age and dating status, noting that she isn't seeing anyone at the moment and is aware that time is moving quickly.
Whether Khloé will have another child remains unclear, but she is clearly weighing her options carefully, thinking both about her own emotional capacity and the bond she wants True to have with a sister.
