Jeannie Mai is very honest about her dating life.

The former The Real host, who ended her two-year marriage to rapper Jeezy in 2023 before filing their divorce the following year, stated that she is now focusing on herself when it comes to "dating at 47," resolving to "prioritize her own needs in her next meaningful engagement.

"I'm not aiming to get chosen. I'm deciding," she said in a March 5 YouTube video. "I am considering whether I enjoy myself while I am with you. "Am I fully myself when I am with you?"

After all, Jeannie stated, "It's been a minute since I let somebody see me fully me."

"Dating in LA already feels like a full-fledged sport," she added. "Everyone is emotionally unavailable. This time, I have standards."

The Daytime Emmy winner emphasized her new mindset, adding, "Being in my presence is a privilege."

That's why Jeannie recently took herself out on a solo date, documenting it in her vlog.

"I'm not shrinking my shine to make someone else comfortable," she said. "The most important takeaway is that I will never abandon myself again."

Especially since she's likened her divorce from Jeezy, with whom she shares 4-year-old daughter Monaco, to "experiencing death alive."

"Divorce is heartbreaking, no matter what," Jeanie shared on a January episode of iHeartRadio's Question Everything podcast. "It's one of the greatest pains that any human has to endure, honestly."

She went on to say, "Divorce is an inhumane thing that requires you to protect yourself in order to get what you need out of it. This is the worst.

Will she ever consider walking down the aisle again?

"I actually would," added Jeannie, who was also married to Freddy Harteis from 2007 to 2018, "because I really don't want to ever put a block on myself."

She went on to say, "Love cannot be contained. You can't say, 'Oh, I'm only going to find love,' if you're declaring you'll never marry again."
