In a YouTube vlog shared on Monday, March 9, the 21-year-old TikTok star documented her trip to Italy with friends during Milan Fashion Week. D'Amelio, who is a Prada ambassador, attended the brand's runway show and spent time exploring the city, shopping, and relaxing with her friends.
The 14 minute vlog captured highlights from the trip, but it also showed how D'Amelio planned time specifically for creating short videos for TikTok. During the vlog, she revealed that she scheduled a period she called "TikTok time," which she shortened to "TTT," to film content without distractions.
"I can't TTT around people because I get embarrassed," D'Amelio said in the video. She explained the plan to her friends and asked if they could give her a little space while she recorded the clips. She assured them it would not take long and that she would meet up with them shortly afterward.
Her friends were supportive and told her they would not go far while she filmed. They encouraged her to message them when she was ready to rejoin the group. D'Amelio thanked them and told them she would see them soon after finishing the videos.
The vlog also comes shortly after D'Amelio returned to posting on TikTok following a break from the platform that lasted several months. She resumed sharing videos in late February while attending events in Milan for the Prada show. Since then, she has been posting more relaxed and playful content for her followers.
One of her recent posts even poked fun at a moment from earlier in her career. In a TikTok shared on March 1, D'Amelio joked about a viral 2020 YouTube video she filmed with her parents and sister Dixie. In the original clip, she commented that it might take more than a year for her to reach 100 million followers after first hitting one million on TikTok.
At the time, beauty influencer James Charles joked that having 95 million followers should already be enough. Laughing, D'Amelio explained she had simply been thinking about even numbers.
In her new TikTok, she revisited that moment with humor. Speaking sarcastically, she admitted it would have been impressive to reach 100 million followers exactly one year after hitting one million, before joking that neither she nor anyone else could claim that achievement.
