Disney has released the first trailer for its upcoming Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, bringing Miley Cyrus back to the role that launched her global fame.
The special is scheduled to debut March 24, exactly two decades after the Disney Channel series first premiered in 2006.
In the preview, Cyrus is seen revisiting the signature blonde wig and pop persona that defined Hannah Montana for a generation of young viewers.
Disney says the anniversary program will blend never before seen footage, recreated sets, and musical moments that echo the show's original run.
The event will also be filmed in front of a live studio audience and feature a conversation with Cyrus hosted by Call Her Daddy podcast star Alex Cooper.
For longtime fans, the biggest highlight may be Cyrus stepping fully back into the Hannah Montana spotlight for the first time in roughly fifteen years.
The series originally followed Miley Stewart, a Malibu teenager secretly balancing everyday school life with a second identity as a chart topping pop singer.
Across four seasons the show became one of Disney Channel's defining hits, earning strong ratings and four Emmy nominations for outstanding children's program.
Its popularity eventually expanded beyond television with concert tours, soundtrack albums, and the theatrical release of Hannah Montana The Movie in 2009.
Much of the original cast helped turn the sitcom into a cultural phenomenon for younger audiences growing up in the late two thousands.
Emily Osment starred as Lilly Truscott, Miley's loyal best friend, while Mitchel Musso appeared as Oliver Oken and Billy Ray Cyrus played her father Robby Ray Stewart.
Jason Earles portrayed Miley's brother Jackson, and Moisés Arias played the ambitious Rico, owner of the beachside surf shop hangout.
During its run the series also welcomed a long list of celebrity guests including Dolly Parton, Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, and Kelly Ripa.
