Kate Cassidy may have discovered a new love more than a year after Liam Payne died.
Kate, who had been dating Liam for two years when he died in 2024, has been vocal about her grieving journey since then. And now it appears that trip will include a return to dating.
In a TikTok video from March 16, the 26-year-old and a mystery man—tagged as Michael—walk a few feet before he scoops her up in bridal style and spins her around. The video's audio is "Hopelessly Devoted to You" by Olivia Newton-John, which Kate captioned with a black heart emoji.
Kate had shared a video with the same man a few days before, captioning it with multiple heart emojis, "Ugh."
Many admirers of Liam—who was a member of One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson—have given their support in the comments as she has kept them updated on how she has handled life without the "Strip That Down" singer.
"As a young widow who is dating again, I approve this message," a reader said. "We love you, Kate, and we will always grieve Liam, but you deserve to feel loved again. It's going to be different as it should be, and it's truly great. I know my boyfriend is cheering me on, as is Liam for you."
Meanwhile, someone commented on Kate's light expression in the video, adding, “Happiness looks so good on you, babes.”
Kate's letter comes just over a month after she provided an update on her healing process, mentioning that she was able to go through Valentine's Day without crying this year.
"You don't move on from grief," she wrote on TikTok on February 14. "You continue on with it, carrying love in a different shape. Keep living. Keep going. "Live your life to its fullest potential."
Meanwhile, Liam's other loved ones have spoken about how they have moved on following his fatal, accidental fall from a Buenos Aires hotel balcony at the age of 31. As Liam's former bandmate Harry launched his fourth studio album earlier this month, he expressed his grief over Liam's passing.
"It was a pivotal moment for me in terms of looking at my life and asking myself, 'OK, what do I want to do with my life?'" During an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music on March 4, he said, "How do I want to live my life?" "And I think the greatest way you can honor your friends who pass away is by living your life to the fullest."
