Miley Cyrus has opened up about the prospect of headlining the Super Bowl halftime show, admitting that the idea has always felt like "too much pressure." The pop star, 33, addressed the rumors in a cover story with Variety on March 18, explaining that the scale of the event makes it challenging to approach.

"I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure," Cyrus said. "I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can't help but go, 'It's millions of people, and it's the most-watched thing in the world.'"

Still, she suggested she could consider headlining if she could frame the performance like her upcoming Disney+ special. "But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was, taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is — I think I could find it in myself," she said.

The Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, known as the "Hannahversary," premieres on March 24 and celebrates two decades since the debut of the Disney franchise that launched Cyrus as a teen superstar and Grammy-winning singer-

songwriter. She shared, "I didn't want to do this modern approach to Hannah. I wanted to keep it preserved. But also, now Hannah wears Gucci." Going back to her blonde Hannah Montana roots, she said it "felt like home again."

Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis called the special a "love letter to the fans, who remain as passionate today as they were when the series debuted almost 20 years ago." The special features an in-depth interview and never-before-seen archival footage, giving fans a deep dive into Cyrus's journey through her career.

While she remains a favorite to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, Cyrus has confirmed she has no plans to tour anytime soon. "I actually miss and love live shows," she said. "But me being on the road for six months out of the year and leaving my family and my normalcy and my routine is just not best for me."

The 2027 Super Bowl will take place on February 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
