A representative for Chappell Roan has addressed an alleged incident involving footballer Jorginho and his young daughter, emphasizing the singer's stance against any form of aggression toward fans.
In a statement shared on March 23, Roan's spokesperson said the artist has "zero tolerance" for aggressive behavior and was not aware of any interaction involving a mother and child and a security guard at a hotel in São Paulo. The representative clarified that Roan did not see the pair during breakfast, nor did she instruct her personal security or team members to approach them. They added that she holds those around her to high standards when it comes to how fans are treated.
The statement follows claims made by Jorginho, who alleged that a security guard confronted his 11 year old daughter during breakfast at the same hotel where Roan was staying ahead of her performance at Lollapalooza Brazil. According to him, his daughter had been excited to see the singer and had simply walked past her table to confirm her identity before returning to her seat without any direct interaction.
Jorginho claimed that shortly after, a security guard approached his family and spoke in what he described as an aggressive manner, accusing his daughter of being disrespectful and suggesting a complaint could be filed. He said the incident left his daughter upset and in tears, adding that fans should be treated with respect.
Roan later shared her own account on social media, stating she had no knowledge of the situation at the time. She said she did not see the mother and child and did not ask any security personnel to engage with them. She also expressed concern that assumptions may have been made without cause.
In a follow up message, Roan addressed online reactions, stressing that she values her supporters and does not harbor negative feelings toward fans or children. She also offered an apology to the family if they felt uncomfortable, saying they did not deserve that experience.
The situation has drawn attention to the balance artists often try to maintain between personal boundaries and fan interactions. Roan has previously spoken about the importance of setting limits while still respecting those who support her work.
