Manon Bannerman has shared a brief but heartfelt update with fans as she continues her hiatus from KATSEYE.
The singer recently posted a message on the fan platform Weverse, expressing gratitude for the support she has received during her time away. In her note, Bannerman thanked fans for their patience and kindness, saying she deeply appreciates the love sent her way. She also reassured supporters that she is doing well, adding that she feels both happy and healthy. Bannerman mentioned that she has been in positive discussions with her team and feels supported as she takes this time to focus on herself. She ended her message by promising to share more updates soon.
Around the same time, fans noticed a subtle change on her social media. Bannerman appeared to update her Instagram bio, removing any mention of KATSEYE. The bio now reads "mademoiselle manzanita," which quickly sparked conversation among followers about what the change might mean for her future with the group.
Her update comes as KATSEYE prepares for a new release. The group recently shared a teaser for their upcoming "Pinky Up" music video, marking their first project since Bannerman stepped back from group activities.
Her hiatus was first announced on February 20 through a statement posted on the group's official X account. The message explained that the decision followed open and thoughtful conversations, with Bannerman choosing to take a temporary break to focus on her health and overall wellbeing. The group expressed full support for her decision and emphasized their commitment to standing by one another and their fans. They also confirmed that group activities would continue during her absence, with hopes of reuniting when the time is right.
KATSEYE, a six member group formed through the Netflix series Pop Star Academy, includes Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae alongside Bannerman. Since debuting in 2024, the group has seen rapid success, including earning nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo or Group Performance at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Bannerman's message offers reassurance to fans while leaving the door open for her eventual return.
