The grief is still raw for Monica Culpepper, who is speaking out following the sudden death of her son, Rex Culpepper, at age 28 after a dirt bike accident in March.

"Our world stopped," Monica shared in an emotional message posted to Instagram, describing the exact moment her family's life changed forever. The former Survivor contestant wrote that the loss has left them in a constant state of shock, calling it a "gut-wrenching grief" that feels both disorienting and unrelenting.

Rex, a former quarterback for Syracuse Orange football team, died on March 14 from injuries sustained in the accident. His passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from loved ones, teammates, and fans who remember his resilience and passion.

Monica, who shares Rex with fellow Survivor alum Brad Culpepper, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support their family has received. She noted that messages, meals, and memories shared by others have offered moments of comfort amid the pain. "It's deep, messy, and beautiful," she wrote, reflecting on the collective mourning and celebration of Rex's life.

Rex's siblings, Honor Culpepper and Judge Culpepper, also honored their brother publicly, inviting others to share stories that capture his spirit. Their tribute described him as a central figure in their lives, someone whose presence was impossible to ignore.

His fiancée, Savanna Morgan, remembered their relationship as intense and full, saying their years together felt like a lifetime. She described Rex as "one in a billion," highlighting his wide-ranging talents and deep capacity for love.

Beyond his personal life, Rex's journey included overcoming testicular cancer during his college football career. He returned to the field after treatment, earning recognition for his determination and strength.

As Monica continues to process the loss, she emphasized honoring Rex's memory while supporting her family. Though the pain remains constant, the stories and connections he left behind continue to offer glimpses of light.
