The Bachelorette alum underwent a double mastectomy for stage four breast cancer on April 29, with her husband Jeff Arcuri providing updates throughout the procedure, referring to Katie as a "beautiful badass."
"She is in amazing hands, and spirits are high," Jeff, who married Katie last March, wrote in an April 29 Instagram Story. "I'll be updating everyone as soon as I can."
As he waited, the comedian provided a glimpse into Katie's pre-op routine, demonstrating her upbeat attitude toward the procedure. In one video, the 35-year-old made fun of the way her hospital gown draped across her upper chest, making her breasts appear enormous.
"These are my new boobs, actually," she joked. "It's for you, baby."
Hours later, the comedian confirmed in a separate post, “Katie is out of surgery, and everything went great.”
Katie later provided an update, posting a video of herself eating hospital food and watching Monsters, Inc.
"Jeff is taking care of me so well," Katie said as she panned the hospital room, pointing the camera to an empty chair beside her bed and adding, "My sweet, sweet husband is staying the night right there."
Jeff shrugged. "That's all I need."
Katie's cancer update comes just over a month after she confirmed she'd be having a double mastectomy and would also be taking a social media break.
"I'm OK," Katie assured her Instagram followers on March 20. "I'm going to be okay. "I just need a reset."
The FBoy Island alum went on to thank her followers for their continued support, saying, "F--k cancer."
Katie revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2025 and that it had progressed to stage four with metastases in her liver a month later. Earlier this year, she told People that it felt like "three lifetimes" since her diagnosis.
And why did she choose to have a double mastectomy despite the unclear results? Katie simply stated, "I want to do everything I can to increase my chances."
