Khloé Kardashian is revisiting her 2007 DUI arrest, and the experience, she says, was far more intense than she expected at the time.
Speaking on her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast, the reality star said she didn't fully grasp the situation when it first happened. "I don't think I was really thinking too hard about it, which sounds so silly," she admitted.
At 22, she knew she was in trouble but didn't think it would land her in jail. "I didn't know I was going to go to jail because of that, 'cause it was my very first offense," she said.
Things quickly became real after her arrest, which happened over a weekend, meaning she had to stay in custody until she could be processed. During that time, she found herself in a packed holding cell.
"I was in a holding cell with 23 other women, who were all prostitutes, besides me," she recalled.
Looking back, she even joked that she might have blended in more than she realized. "I was in a very short dress, so I looked questionable, I imagine," she said.
But the conditions weren't something she could laugh off entirely. The cell was crowded and had just one toilet, something she avoided completely. "I never used the restroom, not one time," she said, adding that it still surprises her.
Kardashian also touched on the moment behind her widely shared mugshot, confirming her best friend Malika Haqq stepped in to help her get ready. "She did do my hair... she did a good job," she said.
At one point, Kardashian was sentenced to 30 days in jail after violating her probation from the DUI case. The thought of actually serving that time was daunting. "That was much scarier, because thinking I was gonna spend 30 days in jail wasn't anything I thought about [before]," she said.
In the end, she didn't serve the full sentence and was released early due to overcrowding.
