Jennifer Lopez and Robert Zemeckis are pushing back against a report that they have clashed over The Last Mrs. Parrish, their upcoming Netflix thriller.
A report by Page Six claimed Lopez had taken a more active role in editing the film after it allegedly received a poor response in test screenings. One source suggested she was trying to take charge of the process because she saw herself as a filmmaker and wanted to save the movie.
The claims prompted comparisons with Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's dispute over It Ends With Us. But Lopez, Zemeckis and Netflix have denied that the two filmmakers are at odds.
"This reporting is categorically false. Any suggestion that the filmmakers are not working in unison is without merit," they said in a joint statement to Page Six.
Netflix also disputed the account of the test screenings, saying the film had tested well, especially with Lopez's fans. The original report claimed Lopez and Zemeckis had worked on the edit together the previous week and planned to meet again.
The film adapts Liv Constantine's 2017 novel of the same name. Lopez plays Daphne Parrish, a wealthy socialite whose life becomes complicated when Amber Patterson, played by Isabel May, enters the picture. Amber is a con artist, while Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays Daphne's husband, Jackson.
Production started in September 2025, and the film is expected to be released in 2027. Its budget has reportedly reached about $100 million.
The It Ends With Us comparison comes from reports of disagreements between Lively and Baldoni over the final cut of their film. Their dispute eventually led to legal action, before they reached a settlement in May 2026 without a payment.
Lopez and Zemeckis, however, have denied the reports of tension surrounding their film.
