Heidi Klum's husband, Tom Kaulitz, missed her annual Halloween party because he was away on tour with his band, Tokio Hotel.

The supermodel attended her 25th annual Halloween celebration at Cathédrale Restaurant in New York on October 31 without Kaulitz, who was performing in Germany with the group.

Klum explained his absence during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, saying he was unable to join her because of his touring commitments. "My husband he couldn't be here today because he's on tour right now, and I'm going to join him on tour," she said.

Pointing to the engagement rings and wedding band incorporated into her costume, she added, "But he couldn't be here today, so you know he's always with me."

The couple were still connected in a small way through Klum's elaborate look. This year, the Project Runway host transformed herself into a giant severed hand, inspired by her own left hand. She explained to E! News that she had looked at it and wondered how she could fit her entire body inside it. Her team eventually worked out how to make the idea a reality.

Klum also included a personal tribute to her husband by writing his name inside the ring finger of her actual hand. She later shared a photograph on Instagram with the caption, "Tom i miss you."

Kaulitz is currently touring with Tokio Hotel, the German band he performs in alongside his twin brother, Bill Kaulitz. The group released its latest album, Encore, on October 25 and has been travelling across Germany and other parts of Europe.

Although he missed this year's celebration, Kaulitz has joined his wife for previous Halloween parties. Last year, he appeared alongside Klum, who was dressed as Medusa, as a warrior turned to stone.

Klum has hosted her Halloween party for 25 years, becoming known for the elaborate transformations she unveils at the annual event. This year's bloody severed-hand costume continued that tradition, even with her husband away on tour.
