Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly have been spotted spending time together once again in California, fueling speculation about their growing romance.The actress, 37, and the musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, were photographed outside a restaurant in Calabasas on Tuesday, November 3. The pair appeared cheerful as they shared a laugh during the outing, with both sporting black leather jackets.
MGK partially concealed his face with a hood and a knit hat, while Johnson appeared relaxed beside him.
Their latest appearance comes amid reports that the two are growing closer. A source close to Johnson recently told PEOPLE that the actress is enjoying her time with the musician.
"She's happy and enjoys spending time with [MGK]," the insider said, adding that there is considerable chemistry between them. The source also revealed that Johnson has been visiting the recording studio while MGK works on music.
"For now, it makes her happy," the insider added.
The pair were first photographed together on September 12, although reports suggest their connection began months earlier.
In September, a source close to MGK told PEOPLE that the two had been spending time together privately for several months. The insider said they had previously met but became closer after attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding in New York City in July.
According to the source, their relationship initially developed through friendship and frequent text conversations before they began spending more time together.
"It's a very new start, but they're smitten with each other right now," the insider said.
Another source told PEOPLE on October 19 that Johnson and MGK were in the dating phase but had not made their relationship official.
The pair were also spotted together in Los Angeles on October 15. An insider said they were seeing each other more frequently and growing closer with each encounter.
Their shared sense of humor has reportedly played a role in their connection, with the source describing both as having a similar dry and dark sense of humor.
Johnson was previously linked to musician Role Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, before their relationship ended earlier this year. She also had a long-term, on-and-off relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
MGK previously dated actress Megan Fox, with whom he shares an 18-month-old daughter, Saga Blade. The former couple are now co-parenting.
