Jennifer Lopez celebrated the Fourth of July in New York with friends, though she was apart from her husband, Ben Affleck. After returning to Los Angeles from a European trip, the 54-year-old star was seen shopping for plants in the Hamptons with her manager, Benny Medina. Lopez, wearing her wedding ring, carried the same woven Dior tote bag she had during her recent time in Italy.
In the Hamptons, Lopez was also spotted having a late lunch at Sant Ambroeus East Hampton on Tuesday night, July 2, dining outside before leaving in her jeep. Meanwhile, Affleck, 51, was photographed having dinner in Los Angeles with two of his children on Wednesday, July 3, as reported by The Daily Mail. He was also seen wearing his wedding ring.
Affleck has three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. On Wednesday, Lopez posted an Instagram video with Emme, presumably heading to the Hamptons in a jeep.
The Hamptons is known for the annual Independence Day bash thrown by Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, which Lopez and Affleck attended last year. At the 2023 event, Lopez wore an ankle-length white dress with a tie-front top, while Affleck matched in a casual white tee and jeans, joined by his daughter Violet.
Lopez has been busy with various film and production projects. According to a source, she and Affleck are "doing their own thing" this summer. "Jennifer's having a wonderful time in Europe. She loves Italy and visits every year. She's grateful for a break. The past few weeks have been emotional for her. Ben has been working in L.A. and is spending time with his kids. Everyone seems to be doing okay," the source told People in June.
Despite some marital tension and living separately, Lopez and Affleck have shown a united front at family events, including Violet's graduation ceremony. Lopez recently canceled her This Is Me... Live summer tour, citing the need to spend time with loved ones. "I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn't do this if I didn't feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time ...," she shared on her OntheJLo website.
