Sydney Sweeney has spoken out to clarify the persistent rumors surrounding her relationship with her fiancé, Jonathan Davino.

Sweeney, who has built a successful career in Hollywood, made it clear that she is financially independent. "I'm a very successful, independent woman who's worked really hard," she stated. "I've accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family."

The couple, who got engaged in 2022 after dating for four years, have faced various rumors, including the notion that Davino, who is 13 years older than Sweeney, financially supports her. "You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man. We're teammates. We're in it together. And we want to see each other succeed," she said.

Their relationship has been a topic of public interest since they were first seen together in 2018 at several events, including Hulu's Emmy Party and an InStyle and Kate Spade dinner party. Over the years, they have been spotted at various public outings, such as a New York Knicks game in 2019 and a beach trip in Maui, Hawaii, in 2020.

Despite the public scrutiny, Sweeney has maintained a level of privacy about her personal life. She expressed her desire to keep certain aspects of her life private, saying, "Everyone is always so curious about who I'm with and what's that like, but I think it's important to have something for me."

Sweeney also took the opportunity to clarify misconceptions about Davino's background. Contrary to reports that he is a restaurateur and the heir to a pizza company, Sweeney clarified, "He's not a restaurateur. I have no idea where that came from. He's also not the heir of a pizza company. He's a business guy. He's from Chicago."

As the couple prepares for their upcoming wedding, Sweeney has been seen running wedding-related errands, including a visit to a bridal store in Los Angeles. While she has kept the details of their wedding under wraps, she has shared her excitement about the planning process. "I started making that when I was like 10," she said. "I'm more of an experience planner, so I'm like, 'What experience do I want to give people? Are we going on a tropical vacation? Are we doing a carnival?'"
