After captivating audiences for six seasons on the hit CW series ‘All American’, Daniel Ezra is set to take on a new challenge. Ezra has joined the cast of Paramount’s reimagined ‘The Running Man’, starring alongside Glen Powell.  Directed by Edgar Wright, the film is based on the dystopian novel by Stephen King,originally published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

The story follows Ben Richards, a desperate man who participates in a violent reality show called The Running Man to win enough money to save his gravely ill daughter.  The show involves Richards being chased by numerous hunters sent to kill him. The film is set to be released on November 21, 2025.

Ezra, known for his role as Spencer James on All American, has earned critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase. His performance on the series earned him a nomination for the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2022.  Other television credits include ‘A Discovery of Witches’, ‘Undercover’, and ‘The Missing’.

On stage, Ezra starred as Sebastian in Simon Godwin’s 2017 production of ‘Twelfth Night’ at The National Theatre in London. He is repped by ‘UTA’ and ‘Curtis Brown Group’

Powell, who has been busy with roles in ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ and ‘The Menu’, will reunite with his ‘Twisters’ co-star ‘Katy O’Brian’ in the film.  O’Brian, known for her role in ‘Love Lies Bleeding’, will play one of the contestants on the show.

Wright, who co-wrote the script with Michael Bacall, will also produce the film with his producing partner Nira Park and Simon Kinberg.  The project is expected to start filming later this year in London.

With a talented cast and a visionary director at the helm, ‘The Running Man’promises to be an exciting and thrilling adaptation of King’s novel. Fans of the original 1987 movie starring ‘Arnold Schwarzenegger’ and newcomers alike can look forward to a high-octane, dystopian chase thriller set in a futuristic America.
