On Thursday, rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson launched his G-Unit Studios in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he plans to expand his film and TV projects. The in-house production facility is located in the city's downtown area and is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The facility spans across more than 15,000 square feet and boasts of sound stages, editing suites, production offices, and a screening room.
The launch of G-Unit Studios in Shreveport is a significant move that will boost the entertainment industry in the region. Jackson aims to establish a platform that will showcase the talent and creativity of the local community and provide them with opportunities to grow. The studio will help create jobs and boost the economy of the area, which has seen a significant decline in recent years.
Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux expressed his delight at G-Unit Studios finding a home in his city and said that the city's rich culture and talent provide the perfect backdrop for the endeavor. He added that he is eager to collaborate with Jackson and G-Unit Film & Television to bring captivating movies and entertainment to Shreveport and Caddo Parish. The Mayor also praised Jackson for his commitment to fostering talent and creating opportunities for the local community.
G-Unit Film & Television Inc. was founded in 2003 and has produced various high-profile TV shows, including Starz's hit series Power and its various spin-offs. However, Jackson ended G-Unit's deal with Starz last year following his open criticism of how the network handled the production company's TV shows. Jackson has now taken full control of his production company and plans to use G-Unit Studios as a platform to produce more high-quality content, including movies and TV shows.
On the launch date of G-Unit Studios, Jackson was honored with his celebratory day in Shreveport and was presented with a key to the city by Mayor Arceneaux. He expressed his excitement at introducing the expansion of his G-Unit Film & Television through the launch of G-Unit Studios and said that he sees Shreveport as a beacon of inspiration and creativity. The rapper is reportedly already eyeing more properties in Shreveport to expand the studio and plans to make it a hub for entertainment in the region.
