Taylor Swift is kicking off Pride Month in France as she continues the European leg of her Eras Tour. On Sunday, June 2, the "Tortured Poets Department" singer performed at Groupama Stadium in Lyon, France, marking her first show of the month. During her performance, she wished the crowd a joyful celebration of the LGBTQ+ community.

"Happy Pride Month, Lyon," Swift, 34, announced to the audience while performing "You Need to Calm Down," a 2019 anthem for the queer community. The stage lit up with rainbow lights and decor, and fans waved their hands in unison. The music video for "You Need to Calm Down," released in summer 2019, features various LGBTQ+ celebrities, including the Queer Eye fab five, internet personality Hannah Hart, queer and plus-size model Dexter Mayfield, Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon, and singer Todrick Hall.

Adding another layer of meaning to the rainbows, Swift's performance in Lyon was marked by heavy rain. She acknowledged the weather, telling the crowd, "Pluie, rain" ("pluie" means "rain" in French). Videos shared by fans on social media showed the singer's band playing under tents on the sides of the stage, while VIP areas and those closest to the stage were also covered. Audience members donned ponchos to stay dry.

"We have officially had a rain show tonight and that is set," Swift said before performing "Champagne Problems," as reported by USA Today. "That is permanent. It doesn't matter if it doesn't rain again."

As part of her Eras Tour tradition, Swift introduced two surprise songs each night. She sat at her piano to play a mix of "The Prophecy" from her new album The Tortured Poets Department and "Long Story Short" from her 2020 album evermore. Later in the show, she performed a mash-up of "You're on Your Own Kid," a fan-favorite from Midnights, and "Fifteen" from her 2010 album Speak Now.

Although Swift's boyfriend, Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce, has been visiting Europe intermittently to spend time with her during this leg of the tour, he remained in the U.S. for her Sunday night show. The previous evening, he appeared at Big Slick Celebrity Weekend in Kansas City, Missouri, alongside Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd, Patrick Mahomes, and other celebrities at a fundraising event.

During the event, Kelce and Mahomes participated in a skit with Sudeikis, who, in character, cheekily asked Kelce about proposing to Swift. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Sudeikis, wearing a fake mustache, sunglasses, and a cap, asked, "Hey Travis, real talk okay, just the guys here ... when are you going to make an honest woman out of her?" Kelce laughed but did not respond, as the audience cheered.

Swift is set to perform one more show in Lyon before heading to Edinburgh, Scotland, for a three-night run.
