Elton John, the iconic singer known for hits like "Rocket Man," has confirmed that his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour, which concluded in July 2023, was indeed his last. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Elton expressed his decision to retire from touring, citing family as the driving force behind it. His husband, David Furnish, emphasized their desire to be present for their teenage sons, Zachary, 13 And Elijah ,11, during this crucial decade of their lives.

David stated, "We've got our sons, you know, they're getting into their teenage years now. We don't want to miss anything. It's sort of a key decade in a child's life." Elton, who had been touring for over 60 years, now relishes the opportunity to spend time at home with family. "He's been doing it for 60 years. So it's nice to have that time to spend at home with family," David went on.

Reflecting on the final show of his five-year tour, Elton described the exhilaration he felt after the farewell performance in Stockholm. Elton acknowledged that there was no turning back after such a high note. "The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went, 'Yes! Yes!' We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there's no going back after that," he said. His dazzling shows were only one facet of his illustrious career; in 2023, he achieved EGOT status by winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award. Elton expressed gratitude to his fans worldwide, recognizing their unwavering support throughout his journey.

While Elton won't embark on another tour, he hinted at a possible "one-off thing" in the future, although it would be "miles away" from traditional touring. For now, he remains committed to family life, cherishing the moments with his loved ones.
