On Tuesday, July 2, Eminem, 51, gave fans a glimpse into his next musical era by sharing a new trailer on social media for his upcoming album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)," set to release on Friday, July 12.

The trailer, set in "Pompsomp Hills Hospital," depicts a woman in labor. When she gives birth, the baby initially appears lifeless until the doctor slaps it several times. As the mother holds the baby, its eyes darken, and horns begin to grow, causing panic among the hospital staff. The clip concludes with the album's title and a snippet of Eminem's recent single "Houdini."

Alongside the trailer, Eminem dropped a new single, "Tobey," featuring Big Sean and Babytron, on July 2. The track's cover artwork pays homage to Spider-Man. This follows the release of "Houdini" on May 31, the lead single from the forthcoming album.

The video for "Houdini," released on the same day as the single, features Eminem in bed receiving a phone call from Dr. Dre, echoing the 2002 "Without Me" video. The track includes nods to the 22-year-old song, such as the lyric, "Guess who's back, back again/Shady's back, tell a friend." The call from Dre reveals a portal from 2002 has opened, bringing a younger, bleach-blonde Eminem to 2024.

Both versions of Eminem appear on screen together in comic-book-style visuals reminiscent of "Without Me," with Eminem donning the same superhero costume from the original video. Cameos include 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and comedian Shane Gillis. Eventually, the older and younger versions of Eminem merge into an older version with longer, bleach-blonde hair.

In April, the 15-time Grammy winner announced his 12th studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)," slated for a summer release. He shared the news on Instagram with a teaser that aired before his appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.
