The heart of Céline Dion is prepared to get back on the stage. According to many publications, the "Because You Loved Me" singer will make her live debut during the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony. This will be her first performance since disclosing her diagnosis of stiff-person syndrome in 2022.
Additionally, Celine has already arrived in Europe before the July 26 opening of the summer games. In fact, on July 23, she was spotted signing autographs and waving to fans outside the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris.
Although the 56-year-old's performance details are being kept under wraps, it should be a night to remember for her, especially since she has expressed in recent years how much the support of her fans has meant to her.
"I have felt the love and support of my fans worldwide for a long time—for so many years," Céline said in an interview with E! News in June. "They helped me get where I am today."
And the "My Heart Will Go On" singer is keeping her optimistic outlook despite the challenging medical journey she's faced since receiving her diagnosis.
"It's not about choosing what you have," she stated. "It's dealing with what's happening."
Actually, throughout her illness, Céline—who is survived by her late husband René Angélil—has been preparing for her comeback performance. She is the mother of twins Nelson and Eddy, 13, and son René-Charles, 23.
"In my opinion, I have two options," she stated in an April interview with Vogue France. "Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it's over. I stay at home, listen to my songs, stand in front of my mirror, and sing to myself."
