Chappell Roan, the rising US pop sensation, has taken to TikTok to address the disturbing and inappropriate behavior she's been experiencing both online and in person as her star continues to ascend. In two heartfelt TikToks that have collectively garnered over 12 million views, the singer expressed her frustration with the harassment and boundary-crossing actions she's faced, from being yelled at from car windows to online bullying and even stalking.

The 25-year-old singer, whose debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess recently topped the Official Chart, made it clear that fame should not normalize such behavior. "I don't care that abuse and harassment is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous," she said in one of her videos. "That does not make it OK."

Despite her growing success, fueled by her hit single Good Luck, Babe! and praise from music icons like Adele and Lady Gaga, Chappell emphasized that being a public figure does not equate to accepting invasive behavior. "I'm allowed to say no to creepy behavior," she added, stressing that her position as a singer doesn't mean she welcomes or enjoys it.

Chappell joins other celebrities who have spoken out about setting boundaries with fans, including Keke Palmer, Justin Bieber, and Emilia Clarke, all of whom have faced uncomfortable or intrusive encounters. These stars, like Chappell, have made it clear that protecting their personal space and mental well-being is paramount, regardless of their public personas.

Fans have expressed their support for Chappell's stance, with many praising her for speaking out and asserting her right to privacy and safety. As 20-year-old Leah from Birmingham put it, "You have no idea what they're going through or what it takes to be famous."

Chappell's posts serve as a reminder that while fame can bring visibility and success, it also comes with challenges, and no one should have to compromise their safety or well-being as a result.
