Taylor Swift was the “star of the night” after she won numerous awards including the best collaboration award for “fortnight” featuring Post Malone. Malone joined Swift on stage and she acknowledged him by referring to him as “everyone in music’s favorite person” to work with. Swift received the top prize of video of the year for “Fortnight.” She holds the record for most wins in that category with five, including three consecutive victories since 2022, for “Bad Blood,” “You Need to Calm Down,” “All Too Well,” “Anti-Hero” and “Fortnight.”

She won seven awards including Video of the year – “Fortnight”, Best collaboration – “Fortnight”, song of summer – “Fortnight”, Best direction – “Fortnight”, Best editing – “Fortnight”, Artist of the year and best pop.

The singer gave her millions of fans a glimpse into her relationship with Travis Kelce, appreciating him for being supportive. “When I would finish a take and I’d say cut, and we’d be done with that take, I would always hear someone cheering and (saying) ‘woo!’’ from across the studio, where we were shooting it,” Swift said. “And that one person was my boyfriend, Travis. Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic.”

Taylor Swift won video of the year with “Fortnight” against “snooze” by SZA, “Lunch” by Billie Eilish, “Paint the town red” by Doja Cat, “We can’t be friends” by Ariana Grande and “Houdini” by Eminem. She also won artist of the year against Ariana Grande, SZA, Bad Bunny, Eminem and Sabrina Carpenter. As for best new artist, with Benson Boone, Shaboozey, Tyla, Teddy Swims and Gracie Abrams, Chappell Roan won.

Sabrina Carpenter’s song “Espresso” won song of the year against Beyoncé’s “Texas hold ‘em”, Jack Harlow’s “Lovin on me”, Kendrick Lamar’s “Not like us”, “Fortnight” by Taylor Swift and Post Malone and “Lose control” by Teddy Swims. Taylor Swift won best pop against Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae.

Best R&B award went to SZA with “Snooze.” Other nominees included Drake, SZA & Sexyy Red with “Rich baby daddy”, Glorilla with “Yeah Glo!”, Gunna with “Fukumean”, Megan Thee Stallion with “BOA” and Travis Scott & Playboi Carti with “FE!N.” Best hip-hop award went to Eminem. “Beautiful thing” by Benson Boone won best alternative. “Human” by Lenny Kravitz won best rock. “Water” by Taylor won best afrobeats. Megan Thee Stallion’s “BOA” won the best art direction and Ariana Grande’s “We can’t be friends (wait for your love)” won best cinematography.
