50 Cent Jackson is intensifying his long-standing criticism of Sean "Diddy" Combs, particularly in light of mounting allegations against the music mogul. Following Combs' arrest in September 2023 on charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, 50 Cent announced plans to produce a documentary about these allegations.
"It seems like I'm doing some extremely outrageous things, but I haven't. It's really me just saying what I've been saying for 10 years," 50 Cent told People. He emphasized that his critiques have remained consistent, even as more disturbing details have surfaced about Combs' alleged behavior.
The rivalry between the two hip-hop icons dates back to 2006, when 50 Cent accused Combs of involvement in the 1997 murder of The Notorious B.I.G. This rivalry has grown over the years, with both artists clashing over various issues, including business ventures. However, 50 Cent's recent remarks have focused on the serious legal accusations against Combs, which have garnered significant media attention.
Combs, now facing multiple lawsuits alleging sexual abuse, has denied all charges. However, 50 Cent remains vocal, describing Combs' behavior as "disturbing" while urging fans to understand that these actions "do not represent the full story of hip-hop and its culture." He reiterated his distance from Combs' lifestyle, saying, "I stayed away from that stuff the entire time because this is not my style."
In December, 50 Cent publicly announced plans for a Netflix documentary tentatively titled "Diddy Do It?" The project, produced by G-Unit Film & Television and directed by Alexandria Stapleton, will explore the history of accusations against Combs, spanning decades.
"This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative, not just the headlines or clips seen so far," 50 Cent and Stapleton said in a joint statement. They stressed their commitment to giving "a voice to the voiceless" and presenting a comprehensive view of the allegations.
Combs' legal troubles escalated after his former partner, singer Cassie Ventura, filed a lawsuit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse. Though the two settled out of court, the case fueled more accusations, with additional lawsuits emerging. While Combs' legal team maintains his innocence, his bail has been denied twice, meaning he could remain in jail until his trial begins in May 2024.
