It's no accident that Sabrina Carpenter made her most recent declaration. The "Espresso" singer gave her fans a very unique gift two days after she won her first-ever Grammy Awards: a deluxe copy of her 2024 album Short n' Sweet. Sabrina praised fans on Instagram for "giving this album 2 Grammys," referencing her victories for Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Record, before announcing that "Short n' Sweet Deluxe is now available for pre-order."
She is releasing a new version of "Please Please Please" with country music icon Dolly Parton, along with new songs including "15 Minutes," "Couldn't Make It Any Harder," and "Bad Reviews," in addition to her chart-topping classics "Taste" and "Espresso."
How does she feel about working on her latest edition with members of the country's royal family?
"Yes," exclaimed Sabrina, "that does say featuring Miss Dolly Parton." She wouldn't want me to use profanity, but holy sh*t!
The Disney Channel alum's favorite song, "Busy Woman," which was previously only available online, is also included on Short n' Sweet (Deluxe). She disclosed that the song was composed as she was wrapping up her album.
"I wanted to give it to you as a thank you for all the love because it's one of my favorites," she continued.
Sabrina's song "If you want my kisses, I'll be your perfect misses" has already been heard by select fans, but the others may rest easy knowing that the song and the full deluxe version will be accessible to everyone on Valentine's Day.
This year, Sabrina received six Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Best New Artist, and was nominated for the first time. Along with receiving her first nominations and victories, she also performed at the Grammy Awards for the first time in front of musical legends like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Beyoncé.
Sabrina did a vaudeville-inspired mash-up of her charting songs, "Espresso" and "Please Please Please," while wearing a black sparkling suit jacket and a blue Victoria's Secret bodysuit. The performance included purposeful comedic mistakes and even a full-on tap routine.
Sabrina was aware of how much of a dream come true the Grammys were for her as well.
"I'm going to cry because this is my first Grammy," she stated as she accepted her prize for Best Pop Vocal Album. “Thank you to the Recording Academy for having me and having everyone here tonight, in celebration and in honor of everything that happened. I feel so lucky to be able to come together and do something so special and beautiful and celebrate music.”
