In a revealing Vanity Fair lie detector interview, Lady Gaga has finally confirmed that the promised continuation of her iconic "Telephone" music video with Beyoncé is indeed coming. The original video, which ended with a tantalizing "To be continued..." message in 2010, has kept fans speculating for over a decade about a potential sequel.

During the interview, when directly questioned about the continuation, Gaga responded with a definitive "Yes," though she remained coy about the timeline, stating she doesn't know when it will materialize. The possibility of Beyoncé's involvement was met with a mysterious "Maybe" and a telling smile from the "Abracadabra" singer, who notably denied that scheduling conflicts with the Renaissance superstar were behind the 15-year delay.

The original "Telephone" collaboration, released as the second single from Gaga's The Fame Monster album in 2009, achieved significant commercial success, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Grammy nomination for best pop collaboration with vocals. The Jonas Åkerlund-directed music video, which premiered in March 2010, served as a sequel to Gaga's "Paparazzi" visual and featured an elaborate plot involving prison breaks, the Kill Bill Pussy Wagon, and a string of stylized murders.

The timing of this announcement coincides with Gaga's upcoming seventh studio album, Mayhem, set for release on March 7. While the album includes collaborations with Bruno Mars and Gesaffelstein, the absence of Beyoncé from the announced track list suggests the "Telephone" continuation might be a separate project altogether.

The original video's impact on pop culture was immediate and lasting, combining Gaga's theatrical flair with Beyoncé's star power in a cinematic spectacle that pushed the boundaries of music video storytelling. Its cliffhanger ending has become one of music's most discussed unresolved narratives.

This confirmation comes as Gaga prepares for several high-profile projects, including her role as host and musical guest on an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live. The artist continues to demonstrate her versatility across multiple entertainment platforms while maintaining the artistic ambition that made "Telephone" a cultural touchstone.
