Coldplay honored the late Ozzy Osbourne with an emotional performance during their concert at Nashville's Nissan Stadium on July 22, shortly after news of his passing was confirmed. The band paid tribute to the former Black Sabbath frontman with a heartfelt rendition of the 1972 ballad "Changes" from the group's Vol. 4 album.

"We'd like to dedicate this whole show to the incredible genius, talent, and character called gift to the world who was Ozzy Osbourne," said frontman Chris Martin in a video shared by fans. "We send our love to his family." After their stripped-down cover of "Changes," Martin, 48, added, "Ozzy, we love you, wherever you're going."
Reacting to the tribute, a fan wrote, "It was amazing!! Nashville did not disappoint," while another wrote, "omg how beautiful that they did this!"

Osbourne's family confirmed his passing that same morning. "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love," read their statement.

The song "Changes" holds personal meaning. In his autobiography I Am Ozzy, written alongside Chris Ayres, Osbourne explained that the inspiration behind the song's lyrics stemmed from guitarist Bill Ward's first divorce. The track was a collaborative effort between Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler. In 2003, he re-recorded the song as a duet with his daughter, Kelly Osbourne.

Osbourne's final live appearance took place on July 5 at Black Sabbath's Back to the Beginning benefit concert held at Villa Park in Birmingham. Fellow performer and British musician Yungblud, who also took part in the event, later posted a heartfelt tribute following the news of Osbourne's passing: "I will never forget you. You will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage... I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time."

Coldplay's tribute was not just a performance, it was a farewell to a music icon whose legacy continues to inspire across generations.
