Beyoncé has once again made history. Her 2024 Cowboy Carter Tour has become the highest-grossing country tour of all time. According to Billboard, the 35-time Grammy Award winner earned $407.6 million in ticket sales and sold over 1.6 million tickets across 32 shows in nine cities. At age 43, Beyoncé achieved this massive success with a tour that was also the shortest ever to cross the $400 million mark.
The tour spanned major U.S. cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Houston, Washington, D.C., Dallas, and Atlanta. Beyoncé also performed in two European cities, London and Paris.
Fans were treated to a three-hour show featuring more than 40 songs. The performances included special appearances by her husband Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, her mother Tina Knowles, Shaboozey, The Mayyas, and Destiny's Child. Her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi, also joined her on stage during select performances.
The stage design was nothing short of spectacular. It featured standout elements such as a mechanical golden horse, a red horseshoe, and a convertible lowrider.
Before releasing the Cowboy Carter album in March 2024, Beyoncé revealed that it had been five years in the making. She explained on Instagram that the project was inspired by a past experience where she felt unwelcome in the country music genre. That moment led her to explore the deep roots and history of country music, shaping the direction of the album.
She expressed pride in how the music has brought people together globally while shining a light on those who have worked tirelessly to preserve musical heritage. Beyoncé said the criticism she faced when entering country music pushed her to break through boundaries and create a genre-bending work that ultimately became "act ii."
Cowboy Carter went on to win three Grammy Awards in 2025, including the long-awaited Album of the Year. Beyoncé, after four previous nominations, finally took home the honor and dedicated it to Linda Martell, the first Black female country singer and her collaborator on the project.
Beyoncé closed out the tour in Las Vegas on July 26, 2025. Next, she will compete at the Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category, where she faces her husband Jay-Z in a rare head-to-head nomination.
