Regarding her salary, Lauren Graham is revealing some of Luke's secrets. The Gilmore Girls alum, who co-starred with Alexis Bledel on the WB series from 2000 to 2007 and in the Netflix revival of the show in 2016, talked about her salary now that the show is well-liked on streaming services.
"There aren't any residuals on Netflix," Lauren stated when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on March 19. "However, I have been compensated with love and gratitude."
Although Lauren claimed she doesn't profit from residuals, which are payments given to actors and the creative teams behind TV shows as a result of reruns, syndication, or streaming deals, actors have been working to change Hollywood, and residuals were a major topic of discussion during the 2023 writer and actor strikes.
Additionally, fans may be surprised by Lauren's lack of compensation given how quickly the show gained popularity after it began to stream on Netflix.
Lauren went on to say, "We have undoubtedly reached more people than we were reaching on The WB." And it has now infiltrated the younger and older generations, as well as men who are likely forced to watch it by their wives or children. Yes, I am frequently stopped. Every time, I'm surprised, though.”
The 58-year-old has been candid about her unwavering gratitude for the opportunity to play Lorelai Gilmore, despite the fact that she may not be expanding her fortune as a result of her time on the show. She dated fellow Parenthood alum Peter Krause from 2010 to 2021.
When Lauren appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February, she declared, "It's the best part I ever had." "I think it was really great, and I love doing it." It simply means so much to me that the ideal writer and the ideal material were available at the ideal moment.
The Z-Suite star acknowledged that although she loves her old job, the fandom can occasionally be overwhelming.
"There are times when it can be odd," she continued. "On the one hand, I'm thinking, 'I hope there were other adults involved,' as people are beginning to say, 'You raised me.'" Conversely, some people say, "I just have the show on in the background." My dog falls asleep with it. We are no longer even paying attention. It is simply playing, akin to background music.
