Netflix has released the first official trailer for Bridgerton season 4, offering fans a glimpse into Benedict Bridgerton's long-awaited love story and teasing a fairy-tale-inspired romance filled with longing, secrecy and passion. The new season shifts focus to the second Bridgerton son, played by Luke Thompson, as he finds himself reluctantly pushed toward marriage.
The trailer opens with Lady Whistledown reminding viewers of Benedict's reputation, noting that "to the season's most notorious gentleman, Benedict Bridgerton, he must bow to that most powerful of forces: mothers." Violet Bridgerton soon reinforces the pressure, insisting that her son "simply must" find a wife. Her masquerade ball becomes the turning point, where Benedict encounters a mysterious woman known only as the Lady in Silver.
That woman is later revealed to viewers as Sophie Baek, portrayed by Yerin Ha, a maid working within high society. Benedict is immediately drawn to her at the ball, but she vanishes before revealing her identity, leaving him obsessed with finding her. Sophie, however, expresses doubt about the fantasy he is chasing, saying, "He does not want to find me; he wants to find the lady in the silver gown — and she is not real."
The trailer confirms that Benedict and Sophie cross paths again under very different circumstances, with Benedict unaware that the woman he desires and the maid before him are one and the same. The storyline closely follows themes from Julia Quinn's novel An Offer From a Gentleman, blending class tension with romance in a Cinderella-style narrative.
Alongside Benedict's storyline, the trailer showcases steamy moments across the ton. Francesca Bridgerton is seen sharing intimate scenes with her husband John Stirling, while Alice and Will Mondrich appear in a passionate sequence of their own. Fans also spotted a brief but suggestive moment between Benedict and Sophie, as well as a callback to Colin and Penelope's carriage scene from season 3.
Showrunner Jess Brownell has previously described Sophie as a character who challenges traditional tropes, explaining that she is "no such thing" as a damsel in distress. Instead, Sophie is portrayed as determined and strategic, navigating her circumstances with courage and ambition.
Bridgerton season 4 will be released in two parts, with the first arriving on Netflix on January 29, 2026, and the second following on February 26. The series continues its tradition of centering each season on a different Bridgerton sibling, while expanding its ensemble-driven storytelling.
