Sydney Sweeney's planned appearance in The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been removed from the final cut of the film following what sources describe as a "creative decision" during editing.
According to multiple reports, the 28-year-old actress had filmed a brief role alongside Emily Blunt for the highly anticipated sequel. The scene was intended to appear early in the movie and would have shown Sweeney playing herself as a celebrity client being styled at Dior.
In the sequence, the storyline follows Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway, alongside Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci), who visit Emily Blunt's character at Dior in New York. While there, they reportedly encounter Sweeney during a styling session.
However, the scene did not make it into the final version of the film. Entertainment Weekly reported that the decision was made because the moment did not "work structurally with the final version of the movie's sequence."
Another source explained that the team felt the segment "felt out of place with the sequence they were going for," despite appreciation for Sweeney's involvement in the project.
