As Mikayla Nogueira provides a family report, get ready. The TikToker provided her fans a glimpse into her husband Cody Hawken's sobriety journey five weeks after he completed a 45-day stay in treatment for drug and alcohol addiction.
Mikayla posted videos of her and Cody spending the day outside kissing, playing with their pugs, driving, and going to supper together in a TikTok post on May 17.
"When the light is returning into your husband's eyes and you see his smile becoming genuine," the 26-year-old commented over the video.
The TikToker claims that throughout Cody's March admission to an inpatient treatment center, she had very little contact with him.
In a TikTok video posted on April 6, she stated, "My husband has been in rehab for drug and alcohol addiction for the past month, and once a week we do a little cafeteria date." "I don't know if you've heard the saying 'distance makes the heart grow fonder,' but in all my life, I have never heard anything more true."
Even though they don't spend much time together, Mikayla expressed her support for her husband by saying, "I am Cody's biggest fan." I'm here to support him on this trip. I genuinely know he can succeed, and I have faith in him at every turn. Cody is the only person who can accomplish it.
She also celebrated his graduation from the center later that month.
"I'm going to be transparent about how I'm feeling about this: I am extremely f--king excited,” Mikayla said in an April 14 TikTok video. “I miss my husband.”
She added, "I could not be more proud of my husband," even if she was also a little nervous about Cody going home.
Cody's sobriety journey and reasons for getting help were previously openly discussed by the founder of the Point of View cosmetics brand.
"Cody has battled addiction since a very young age," Mikayla stated in a heartfelt TikTok on April 4. "Dude, addiction is really f--king hard, whether you or those around you are dealing with it."
She went on to say, "Sobriety, recovery is not linear," offering support to those who are struggling with addiction. Addiction is a disorder with many facets. It's difficult to comprehend unless you or someone close to you has battled addiction. Relapsing is a natural aspect of the healing process.
