New England Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore is facing a domestic assault charge stemming from an alleged incident that occurred last summer in Massachusetts.

According to court and police records cited by local media, the 26-year-old has been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery involving a family or household member. The accusation relates to an incident on August 8, when Barmore was involved in a dispute with the mother of his child at his Mansfield residence.

Authorities allege that an argument inside the home escalated into a physical confrontation. Police reports indicate that the woman attempted to call for help during the dispute but was prevented from doing so. A two-year-old child was reportedly present at the time of the incident. Afterward, the woman left the residence using transportation arranged by the team.

Barmore is scheduled to be arraigned in court on February 3. Court filings show that the case has been under review for several months before charges were formally brought.
