Timothée Chalamet and Saoirse Ronan, two of Hollywood's brightest stars, recently reunited at an event hosted by the British Film Institute and Vanity Fair in London. The pair, who have collaborated on Greta Gerwig's acclaimed films Lady Bird (2017) and Little Women (2019), reflected on their early careers, working relationships, and key moments from their time on set.

Chalamet recalled first hearing about Ronan from actor Emery Cohen, her co-star in Brooklyn (2015). "I kept hearing this name 'Saoirse, Saoirse,'" he said, "but I didn't put two and two together when I saw the name spelled out. Then we started working, and I was just blown away immediately." Ronan echoed this sentiment, stating, "We were very lucky that we clicked straight away, and we had Greta, who from day one seemed to be so excited about what was happening between the two of us."

Their performances in Lady Bird garnered critical acclaim, with Chalamet describing the production as a pivotal moment. "Everyone was sort of at a genesis, especially on Lady Bird," he said. "It was a small production, and we had no clue how well received it was going to be."

The duo reunited for Little Women, where Ronan played Jo March and Chalamet portrayed Laurie. While promoting Lady Bird, Ronan lobbied Gerwig for the role of Jo, recalling, "I sort of had to tell her that I was going to be in it. I said, 'By the way, I'm going to be Jo, right?' And she was like, 'I guess, sure.'"

During the shoot, Chalamet learned a vital lesson in punctuality, thanks to Ronan. "I was on the phone arranging tour dates and was late to hair and makeup," he said. "Suddenly, there was a bang on my trailer door. I opened it, and there was Saoirse in a bald cap, saying, 'Get your f***ing ass to the trailer right now!'"

Chalamet and Ronan have since ascended to greater heights. Chalamet is generating Oscar buzz for Dune: Part Two and A Complete Unknown, while Ronan continues to earn acclaim for The Outrun and Blitz.
