LB pitchers using illegal substances during games is a practice that has been the norm for decades in Major League Baseball. It's one of those embarassing dark secrets that pitchers have gotten caught doing multiple times.

During Wednesday's game between the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers, the umpire suddenly approached Scherzer for allegedly having a sticky substance in his glove.

Texas Rangers ace Jacob deGrom left Monday night's start against the Kansas City Royals after four hitless innings because of a sore right wrist.

The team said deGrom was removed as a precaution. He struck out five and walked one, throwing 39 of his 58 pitches for strikes. Two relievers finished a one-hitter for the Rangers in a 4-0 victory.

Julio Urias and Max Muncy shined today, with the first baseman hitting a three-run round-tripper and a grand slam, making it his tenth game where he's had more than one base hit.

Mookie Betts opened the game with a home run to help the Los Angeles Dodgers comfortably beat the San Francisco Giants 9-1 in the third win of the season for Julio Urias.

Anthony Rendon wasn’t very talkative Saturday, two days after video surfaced of the Los Angeles Angels All-Star appearing to take a swipe at an Oakland fan after a 2-1 opening day loss to the Athletics.

“I’m sorry. I can’t comment,” the third baseman told a throng of reporters Saturday at the end of a news conference on the field at the Oakland Coliseum that lasted fewer than five minutes. MLB said Friday it was looking into the incident.

Rendon went hitless and struck out twice in three at-bats on Thursday. He left the Angels dugout and was on his way to the tunnel leading to the clubhouse when he stopped and apparently confronted a fan sitting near the railing.
