All-Star pitcher Justin Verlanderand his wife, supermodel Kate Upton, were in attendance at amfAR's Palm Beach Gala to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The event, which was held in Florida, aimed to raise funds for HIV/AIDS research while also providing attendees with a chance to dress up and enjoy a night of fine dining.

RED SOX INFIELDER JUSTIN TURNER HIT IN FACE BY PITCH

Boston Red Sox infielder Justin Turner needed 16 stitches after he was hit in the face by a pitch during Monday’s spring training game against the Detroit Tigers.

The 38-year-old Turner fell to the ground after getting drilled by right-hander Matt Manning. Medical personnel rushed to the plate, and Turner was bleeding and had a towel on his face as he walked off the field.

ATLANTA HAWKS HIRE QUIN SNYDER AS COACH TO REPLACE FIRED NATE MCMILLAN

Quin Snyder has been hired as coach of the Atlanta Hawks to replace the fired Nate McMillan, the team announced Sunday.

The Hawks reached an agreement with Snyder on a five-year deal only five days after firing McMillan on Tuesday. The team has scheduled a news conference for Monday to introduce Snyder.

Justin Verlander from the New York Mets was in a full-celebration mood as his wife Kate Upton threw quite the birthday party for the slugger who turned 40 this past week. Verlander immediately praised his wife for the gesture.

Verlander used Instagram to make a gratitude post not only to the ones who joined him in this celebration but to his lovely wife who planned everything so he could go big on his 40-year-old birthday.

TIM MCCARVER, BIG LEAGUE CATCHER AND BROADCASTER, DIES AT 81

Tim McCarver, the All-Star catcher and Hall of Fame broadcaster who during 60 years in baseball won two World Series titles with the St. Louis Cardinals and had a long run as one of the country's most recognized, incisive and talkative television commentators, died Thursday. He was 81.

McCarver's death was announced by baseball's Hall of Fame, which said he died Thursday morning due to heart failure in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was with his family.
