The All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa maintains he has no animosity toward the Mets or Giants despite the public breakdown of his contract talks with both teams this offseason.

The dynamic 28-year-old was offered enormous contracts by both teams, but they ultimately decided against signing him due to problems with his physical.

As a result, Correa decided to stay in Minnesota for $200 million, which is significantly less than the contracts he would have received from the Mets or Giants.

All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa went through some chalenging times during the end of 2022 after opting out of his three-year contract with the Minnesota Twins. Correa had agreed to a 12-year deal for $315 million with the Mets late in December, 2022. Previous to that, he had also agreed on a $350 million 13-year deal with the San Francisco Giants that fell apart over concerns for his right ankle. Both the Mets and the Giants showed concern over his surgically repaired ankle and couldn't be convinced to trust he was 100% fit to perform over that much money.

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced Friday the release of pitcher Trevor Bauer, who released a statement claiming the team had previously said they wanted him for the 2023 MLB season.

Bauer, 31, was accused by a San Diego woman of beating and sexually abusing her in 2021. Prosecutors found no evidence to back her allegations and Bauer was never charged with a crime.

"The Dodgers organization believes that allegations of sexual assault or domestic violence should be thoroughly investigated, with due process given to the accused," the Los Angeles franchise said in a statement. "From the beginning, we have fully cooperated with Major League Baseball's investigation and strictly followed the process stipulated under MLB's Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.
