Pete Rose,one of the most beloved and controversial baseball players alive in Major League Baseball, feels he has been ostracized for too long as a result of his gambling scandal and so he made another effort to be redeemed and finally be inducted into the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame in recognition of his brilliant career as a player.

To that end this week, Rose sent an emotional letter to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, where he intends to plead his case.

While the New York Yankees front office still doesn't know what to do with Aaron Judge, who is now officially a free agent and can sign with whomever he wants, the Bronx Bombers' famed No. 99 ballplayer is taking it easy.

Today the NYC Marathon was run by Judge's wife Samantha Bracksieck, and Aaron was supporting her all the way through the 26.2-mile course.

Houston Astros pitcher Framber Valdez threw a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and allowed just one run over 6.1 innings to help the home team beat the the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday at Minute Maid Park in Game 2 of the MLB World Series.

Astros scored three runs in the first inning off starter Zack Wheeler, who was able to rally after a very difficult start, but Phillies were unable to complete a comeback like they did in Game 1.

Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker announced that Justin Verlander will be the starting pitcher for the first game of the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday at Minute Maid Park.

This will be the third consecutive time that Verlander will be the starter in an opening game in the postseason, with Verlander responsible for facing the Seattle Mariners in the Division Series and the lead-off against the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
