Jordan will withdraw from the individual all-around competition on August 1st, following the gold medal victory by the U.S. women's gymnastics team, which also consists of Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, in the team final of the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 30.

The International Gymnastics Federation only permits two competitors per nation, so Simone and Suni will represent the United States in the upcoming all-around competition. The 23-year-old placed fourth overall in the women's qualifying on July 28 and has the scores to enter the room.

Jordan did, however, make it to the floor final on August 5.

For years, Team USA has been impacted by the two athlete rule. Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas competed for the nation in the individual competition in 2012, with Jordyn Wieber sitting out. Gabby was pulled out of the event in the next Rio Summer Olympics in favor of Aly and Simone, who had just joined the squad at the time.

Jordan won a gold medal for the United States at the team final, even though she won't be flipping toward a medal at this competition. Jordan competed in the bars, beam, vault, and floor events. She performed well on bars despite a mistake on the beam, receiving a standing ovation from the audience that included Nicole Kidman, Michael Phelps, Natalie Portman, Serena Williams, and Jordan's parents, Gina and Timothy Chiles.

In fact, the parents of the girl who went off the balance beam knew just the right words of encouragement to give her.

"Don't worry about it, baby, it's all right," Gina was heard yelling to her daughter from the stands. "Just keep going until the end."

With a final score of 171.296, Team USA ultimately defeated Italy and Brazil for the gold medal, leading them by more than five points, 165.494 and 164.497, respectively.

Apart from their standing on the scoreboard, Team USA demonstrated that they are fully committed to having a good time.

Jordan stated to the New York Times in 2021, "I learned that gymnastics doesn't always have to be about strictness, and being so hard on yourself and having so much doubt." "I became aware of this when I watched Simone compete. She doesn't appear stressed out or worn out and instead appears to be having fun outside, laughing and giggling. You know, I'm going to give that a shot one of these days to see how it turns out.’”
