In his recent comments that caught the public's attention, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker delivered a controversial speech at Benedictine College's graduation ceremony. The NFL has since responded, clarifying their position on the matter.

Butker's speech, which went viral, touched on several sensitive topics, including reproductive rights, gender roles, and Pride month. His comments on women being homemakers and his criticism of IVF and birth control sparked widespread debate.

The NFL's senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer, Jonathan Beane, stated, "Harrison Butker gave a speech in his personal capacity. His views are not those of the NFL as an organization. The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger".

The speech has elicited strong reactions across social media, with many demanding a response from the Chiefs. Some fans have expressed their disappointment, stating that Butker's views are a "slap in the face to every woman who has supported the Chiefs".

During his speech, Butker told the graduates, "There is nothing good about playing God with having children," and urged men to be "unapologetic in your masculinity." He also criticized President Joe Biden's response to the coronavirus pandemic, linking it to a broader "pervasiveness of disorder".

The NFL has been clear in distancing itself from Butker's remarks, emphasizing their dedication to diversity and inclusion. This incident has highlighted the delicate balance between personal expression and public representation for figures in the spotlight.

NFL's response serves as a reminder of the organization's values and the importance of inclusivity in the sports community. Butker's speech, while made in a personal capacity, underscores the influence and responsibility that comes with public platforms.
