Along with beating his rivals during qualifying for the Belgian GP, Max Verstappen also made waves after getting into a heated argument with race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase.

Max made it clear over the radio that he was annoyed after Q2, when he only just made it through to Q3 in 10th place, resulting in him blowing up.

"I should have just ****ing pushed two laps in a row, like I said," Verstappen told Lambiase, who responded: "So you are through Max."

That wasn't good enough for Verstappen, who said: "Yeah, I don't give a ****... it's just **** execution."

Lambiase kept calm while explaining the decision to the Dutchman, who kept quiet given the strategy was the right one.

"OK, and then when the track was two seconds quicker for your final lap and you didn't have any energy left, how would that have gone down?

"You tell me what you want to do in Q3, and we'll do it. Let me know. Sets, fuel, run plan."

In the end, Max destroyed the competition, finishing eight tenths up on Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, though he'll start down in sixth position after changing his gearbox.

After passing the finish line with the fastest lap time at Spa-Francorchamps, the Dutchman took time to apologize to Lambiase.

"Woah! Nice gap, that!" Verstappen said of his advantage over Leclerc. "At least we had a good Q3. Sorry to GP for being so on the rant."

Lambiase, just as before, kept his cool and responded: "Slowly getting used to it, Max."

For their part, Red Bull took Verstappen's tantrum in stride, with Helmut Marko praising the Dutchman's performance.

"We didn't have a consistent Q2, and he was close to being out. But on the second lap of Q3, Max exploded, it was an incredible display," Marko told Sky Germany.
