Real Madrid captain Luka Modric has announced that he will leave the club after the conclusion of their FIFA Club World Cup campaign this summer. The 39-year-old Croatian midfielder, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2018, is set to play his final match at the Santiago Bernabeu when Real Madrid hosts Real Sociedad on Saturday in their last La Liga fixture of the season.

Victory in the Europa League final would not be enough to redeem Manchester United's disappointing season, manager Ruben Amorim said on Tuesday. The once mighty United are currently a lowly 16th in the Premier League, making Wednesday's final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao their only chance to secure a spot in next season's Champions League.

Manchester City have established a permanent tribute to Kevin De Bruyne after unveiling a mosaic and dedicating a road at the club's academy to the departing midfielder. De Bruyne is set for his final City appearance at the Etihad Stadium during Tuesday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth before leaving when his contract expires in June.

Former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has been appointed as the club’s manager on a three-year deal. Alonso, who played 236 times for the club, recently announced he will leave his position as Bayer Leverkusen boss at the season’s end. He succeeds Carlo Ancelotti and has committed to managing Real Madrid until 30 June 2028.
