In a match that had tennis fans glued to their screens, Amanda Anisimova triumphed over world number two Iga Swiatek 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-2 in a gripping WTA Finals clash. The victory not only earned the American a semi-final berth but also marked a powerful comeback in her debut season at the prestigious event.

The tension was palpable from the first serve, as both players exchanged relentless baseline rallies and held serve through twelve games before Swiatek clinched the opening set in a tiebreak. But Anisimova refused to fold, upping her aggression and breaking Swiatek late in the second set to level the match.

In the deciding set, Anisimova's confidence soared as she broke Swiatek's serve early and maintained control to seal the win. "My mom keeps telling me, 'You're so strong, you can do it,'" Anisimova said afterward, smiling. "I was enjoying the challenge, even though I knew how tough it would be."

Meanwhile, Elena Rybakina continued her dominant run earlier in the day, defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-4, 6-4 to secure her own semi-final spot. With Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff still battling for qualification, the WTA Finals are proving to be one of the most competitive in recent memory.

Anisimova's victory not only avenged her loss to Swiatek at Wimbledon but also cemented her reputation as one of the tour's fiercest young talents, a player capable of going toe-to-toe with the very best. Tennis, it seems, has a new powerhouse rising.
