The British number one had been scheduled to compete at the Linz Open next week, but she has now withdrawn from the WTA 500 event. The decision was made to allow her more time to fully recover before returning to competitive play.
Raducanu, 23, first began feeling unwell during the Middle East hard court swing in February. Although she pushed through to compete at Indian Wells in March, she later opted to skip the Miami Open in order to prioritize her health.
Her latest withdrawal adds to a period of uncertainty in her career. Since her breakthrough victory at the US Open in 2021, Raducanu has faced recurring fitness and injury challenges that have disrupted her momentum.
There were positive signs last season, when she managed to play over 50 matches for the first time in a single year, suggesting improved consistency and resilience. However, the early months of this season have followed a familiar pattern, combining moments of promise with setbacks. These have included tough losses, a change in coaching setup, and ongoing health concerns.
So far this year, Raducanu has competed in six tournaments, winning seven out of 14 matches. A standout moment came during her run to the final of the Transylvania Open, where she came close to securing her first title since her remarkable triumph in New York.
Despite the recent disruption, Raducanu remains focused on returning to form. She is aiming to make her comeback at the Madrid Open, which marks the beginning of the European clay court swing at the WTA 1000 level.
Her withdrawal from Linz follows a similar move by fellow British player Jack Draper, who recently pulled out of the Monte Carlo Masters as he carefully manages his return from an arm injury.
The clay court season will culminate with the French Open at the end of May, giving Raducanu a clear target for her return if her recovery progresses well.
