Tennis legend Rafael Nadal believes fellow Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz is fully capable of handling fame and success without needing much guidance from him.

Like Nadal, Alcaraz rose to prominence at a young age after winning his first Grand Slam title as a teenager. Their achievements quickly placed them among the biggest names in world tennis and brought increased global attention both on and off the court.

As their profiles grew, so did opportunities beyond tennis, including magazine features, endorsement deals and widespread admiration from fans around the world. Nadal recently reflected on his own experience with fame in his new Netflix docuseries, Rafa, which was released on May 29. The series explores the final chapter of his playing career and also revisits moments from his rise to stardom, including his image as one of the sport's most recognizable figures during his twenties.

Alcaraz has also become a major public figure in recent years. His recent appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair attracted widespread attention on social media, with many drawing comparisons between the young star and Nadal during his early years in the spotlight.

Despite the similarities in their careers, Nadal explained that Alcaraz has a different personality and already has the right support system around him. According to Nadal, the 23-year-old is surrounded by a strong team that will provide him with the guidance and advice needed to manage growing fame and pressure.

Still, Nadal made it clear that he would always be available if Alcaraz ever wanted support or advice. However, he also admitted that he does not believe the younger player will need much help from him.

The four-part documentary offers fans a closer look into Nadal's personal and professional life during 2024, which marked his final season on the ATP Tour. It highlights key moments from his remarkable career, including his battles with injuries and even his appearance in Gypsy, the 2010 music video by Shakira.

Reflecting on fame, Nadal said the most important thing is to remain authentic and respectful. He emphasized that athletes should appreciate everyone involved in the sports industry, including fans, photographers, journalists and interviewers, because they all contribute to a player's success and public image.
